Google ads on a web-site are linked to a “Google-ad client number”, to which Google will credit the designated revenue per click.
In reviewing their company’s website a manager noted that some ads were linked to another “Google-ad client number” rather than the company’s. Further research revealed that the ‘unknown’ number belonged to a web-site developer who had access to the site a few years before.
Has anyone else run across this? Does anyone verify that the correct "google_ad_client number" is being used for Google ads on their website? Do some companies permit third parties to post and receive benefits for web-ads on their websites?
